About Us
We recognise the fact that our clients do not enter into litigation or seek legal
advice by choice but as an ultimate resort to enforce or protect their rights. Our
expert advice and intervention early in a matter can save time and money. However,
when a conflict fails to be resolved even after negotiation, we provide advice and
strategies to protect our clients through to the court process. Where disputes cannot
be resolved by negotiation, we are adept at managing litigation bearing in mind
the commercial interests of our clients and the need to preserve important ongoing
relationships.We work closely with our clients in order to ensure that we understand
our clients business and commercial needs and to establish a mutual understanding
of the commercial issues at stake and the most appropriate solution.
When drafting agreements and assisting with the negotiation of commercial transactions
our aim is to translate our clients’ instructions into workable agreements and solutions
properly reflecting our clients’ intentions after having considered our client’s
short, medium and long term goals. In addition we alert our clients to potential
risk areas in their commercial transactions, drawing on our knowledge and experience
in litigation.

Our Formula
A partner is assigned to each client in respect of any matter. Once the material
issues are clearly defined and the best possible method of conduct identified, suitable
attorneys at the appropriate level are assigned to the matter. Where appropriate
the partner dedicates a team made up of a suitable combination of lawyers, advocates
and experts of appropriate seniority and skill. The team size and structure as well

Volker Werth
Volker Werth is the Director of Werth & Associates. Mr. Werth attended the Rand
Afrikaans University from 1990 to 1997 obtaining the degrees B.Proc and LLB degrees.
He was admitted as an Attorney in 1998.
Mr. Werth has extensive experience into alia in the fields of Litigation, Commercial
& Corporate Law.
He worked in an International Law firm in Brussels in 1995 for a year and then returned
to South Africa where he worked as a legal advisor for the SA-German Chamber of
Commerce and Industry. Werth & Associates was formed in 2003, Mr Werth has 10 years
of experience as an Attorney.
